Acorn Life's Accident Plan

After an accident, you may have expenses you’ve never thought about before and your income may be affected. It’s reassuring to know that the Accident Plan from Acorn Life can be there for you when you need it most. Available for just €30 per month (or €1 per day), the Accident Plan is a low cost way to stay ahead of the medical and out-of-pocket expenses that can add up so quickly after an accidental injury - not just for emergency treatment, hospital stays and medical exams, but for other expenses you may face, such as transportation and accommodation costs. The amount paid may also be used to replace all or part of lost income.

The Accident Plan is available to applicants from 20 to 35 years of age subject to acceptance. Accident Plan benefits are provided for ten years and you will have the option to upgrade cover to the Acorn Life Protection Plan at any stage.

Benefits offered under the Plan include €250 per week Personal Accident Benefit, up to €2,000 Accidental Injury Benefit, €100 per day Accident Hospital Cash Benefit, €15,000 Accidental Death Benefit and €5,000 Life Cover.

What is Personal Accident Benefit?

Personal Accident Benefit is a weekly payment paid out in the event that you sustain one or more of the specified injuries by means of an accident and are out of work as a result. The benefit amount is €250 per week. Note: No payment is made for the first two weeks of disability.

Why do I need Personal Accident Benefit?

If you are unfortunate to have sustained an injury by means of an accident, how would you cope financially with loss of income, mortgage repayments, bank loans, utility bills, medical bills and convalecence?

What is Accidental Injury Benefit?

Accidental Injury Benefit is money we pay to you if you sustain one of the specified injuries by means of an accident. The benefit amount offered is €2,000. We pay either 25%, 50% or 100% of this depending on the type of injury sustained. For example, if you fractured your wrist we would pay 25% of the benefit amount or if you dislocated your hip we would pay 100% of the benefit amount.

What is Accident Hospital Cash Benefit?

Accident Hospital Cash Benefit is money we pay to you if you are hospitalised due to an accident. You must be in hospital as an in-patient for a consecutive period of at least 72 hours (three days and nights) before this benefit is paid. The benefit amount offered is €100 per day.

Why do I need Accident Hospital Cash Benefit?

If you were unfortunate to be hospitalised due to an accident for an extended period, how would you cope financially with loss of income, education fees, mortgage repayments, bank loans, utility bills, medical bills, and home adaptations, convalescence?

What is Life Cover Benefit?

Life Cover is money we pay to your beneficiary if you die. The benefit amount is €5,000.
